This spinning top battle game is classic is great fun. There is a secret to livening up the play. Obviously, an adult match up to a child results in a great advantage in strength to pull the tab that spins the top. This unbalance created by age or size can render the game futile. So to provide a handicap the stronger person should not be allowed to pull the full length of the tab. I suggest a starting point of 50% of the tab length for an adult and full tab length for the smaller opponent. Once the balance is made it will be the person that practices the most and finds the angle and landing that knocks out (and apart) their rival. This toy is durable and will last for many many battles.

My children and I disagreed on the rating this set deserved; I was a bit miffed that the gray clip-in barriers for the sides were nowhere to be found in the package. My kids didn't mind this, as the actual playable area is completely within the smaller notched interior of the stadium, and the barrier would only serve to keep the broken spinners from flying outward, and they enjoyed that part.I also thought that this notched interior was too small, effectively reducing the battle area to half of what it should be if they'd used the entire dimensions of the stadium. But again, my kids were less interested in the stadium part of it and more enthralled with the actual spinners.They've been using Beyblades to battle each other for years now, and this set uses a completely different mechanism for attaching the three elements together--something that my son who is particularly engineer-minded enjoyed as a change of pace. The spinners did work really well and spun for quite a long time; the launchers had a lot of power.The bottom line is that I bought it as another stadium option for their Beyblades, and on that measure it isn't the best, but they loved the spinners themselves and are interested in collecting more in this series.

Really fun spinning top game, the battleground feels a bit flimsy compared to the weighty spinners but it does the job. The instructions to put the tops together/how they are used are a bit vague if this is your first time using them (they’re printed on the box) but it’s easy enough to work out.Mine came with two fairly similar looking red and black spinning tops so it’s hard to keep track of who’s is who’s in a battle but the kids are at the age where they are just entertained by the spinning and crashing into things, rather than who won! A simple old school game that keeps them distracted from screens for a while so it’s a win for us.

This is a great quality set that my nephews really loved. They enjoy playing on the spin tops and the arena. The arena is a bit small but still does the job and the kids enjoy it so I don't mind. Easy to assemble and play with. Also a great gift idea for kids who may enjoy these spin tops.

The spinning tops ("blades") are smaller than those of competing brands; so I am not confident they'd be compatible with "named brand" toys.But as a simple budget set, this does what you need for two kids to battle their tops against each other.The arena is the main selling point. It's simple, and cheap, but it's sturdy enough and has a key design feature which makes it especially functional:The point of the tops, and the rim of the arena, are corrugated so that they interlace - this means tops will readily follow the rim, until they reach the midpoint which propels them into the centre of the arena. It guarantees that you seldom get the "tops just sit in place doing nothing while you wait for them to spin down" situation.The tops themselves are solid and functional - although they don't have some of the novelty mechanics (such as auto-dismantling) more sophisticated ones can, and they're not really customisable like some competing products are.The box makes it look like there's a handle for the launching-mechanisms; but that is sold separately.It's fine as an inexpensive novelty, but there's not going to be a lot to hold most kids attentions.
