Used it both as a flag and as a diffuser. Works great in both cases. Light, stable, easy to assemble. Haven’t tried it outdoors, but perfectly fine for studios.

Overall a nice piece of kit once it's all assembled. The panel is a good size for most portrait applications, everything seems pretty robust. The uprights can extend to over 2m, so you could use it as a self supporting scrim in certain situations.I got it for the diffusion screen as I have a large corporate head shot job requiring indirect natural lighting on location – as I don't know what I'll be faced with at each office so this solution seemed to offer the most versatility. The silver panel makes for a great hard-light reflector. The black side material has a slight sheen to it, I suspect it would have been nicer if it was more a matt finish but I won't be using that much, if at all. There's a strange construction choice in how the poles fit together; rather than having a typical spring-loaded button to snap-fit poles together, you have to line them up then using a supplied Allen key to screw out a little grub screw to lock them in position which needlessly increases assembly/dis-assembly times and you're in trouble if you misplace the Allen key which is quite small. It's also a shame that there's no storage bag included. I've had to buy something to put everything in as I don't intend to have it built-up all the time, quite the opposite! The longest single element is 112cm, so you'll need a stand bag or similar of at least that length.
