Bought for husband as a Christmas gift. I was a bit wary after reading some reviews but actually really pleased with it. The sound is decent and functions really well. Really enjoying playing our old LPs.

The Victrola Eastwood is exactly what I was looking for in an affordable record player. I listened to and used several different models and this one provides a very clear, balanced sound. The volume won't be loud enough to shake the room, but it is very comfortable for listening with a couple of people in a room. The built-in speaker box has a great balance of highs and mids. The bass is plenty enough for the variety of music I enjoy, but if you play super bass-heavy tracks, you might want to add some external speakers or subs using either bluetooth or through the RCA hook ups. The player looks fantastic just about anywhere you put it. Very classic in appearance, but easy to use. The auto stop feature when an album side is finished is great too, in case you leave the room or are distracted while playing. The only caution I would share is that the lid can get in the way and the records can rub on it if you try to raise the lid while an album is spinning. I choose to stop the album before opening the lid.

Really enjoyed using this turntable and it inpsired me to get all my old vinyl records out which I had not played for 20yrs or more.I like my hifi and so have a high spec Marantz receiver and some large B and W speakers in a surround sound set up. These are capable of seriously high quality output and volume.This turntable can be used on its own although you just get to hear the music through relatively low volume fairly basic speakers which is fine for low level background music but not that great.In my case, I hard wired it using the audio cable and I also tried the 3.5mm jack to audio to my amp and high end hifi system.The sound quality output by the turntable is really high and it reminded me that many experts say the sound from vinyl records is clearer and more authentic than the sound from streamed music. This seems to be true with this turntable. The sound quality was really noticably good. A joy to listen to in fact and better than spotify streaming at the highest quality rate. Ok you get the odd crackle where my vinyl is scratched but even this is somehow endhearing. On my more perfect vinyl there was no hum or background noise, even at high volume and this suggested to me that the sound output quality was really good.The control button on the front of the turntable acts as a volume control and also if you press it it cycles through to streaming and bluetooth functions but I found the hard wired cables easiest.The stylus, which is the all critical component seems to be extremely good. The stylus comes with a small plastic protection piece that you slide off and this is worth keeping when not in use. The stylus arm is very well damped and also has a built in clamp for when not in use.It is easy to select 33 1/3rd, 45 or 78 speeds. Once selected you simply use the little stylus arm lever to raise the stylus and then carefully move the arm to align with the clear edge of the record and the record automatically starts rotating and then you lower the arm and no matter how fast you lower the arm it is well damped so lowers really gently.Once it gets to the end of the record you can select 'auto' which means the records just stops.An LP sticks out of the cover when it is lowered but this is part of the design and of course means that the footprint of the unit is smaller.I genuinely really liked this turntable and the output sound quality to my hifi is awesome and this is the important thing to me as for the price I knew the built in speakers would be very limited.
