The ventures guitare +cd

I have many many Hal Leonard music books. They are all great. I would have bought another with my eyes closed until getting this one.The book itself is good enough, but the CD is really not good. It is not a standard audio cd, and only partially rips. It includes some poor quality "Amazing Slow Downer" software which is really a sad copy of "Transcribe" by 7th String.So, if you just want the sheet music, it's a bit expensive. If you wanted a play along record, it's not great.

As a long time Ventures fan and a guitarist, I always play at least a couple of Ventures tunes at live gigs. I bought The Ventures - Guitar Play-Along Vol. 116 for the main purpose of learning to play the theme from Hawaii Five O, which is one tune I've always struggled to learn. This book, along with its downloadable audio track, put me on the right path, and I was off to the races in short order! The transcriptions are pretty accurate, and the play along tracks helped immensely. Very satisfied with this!

Proper good book and very good backing tracks so far manged to play Walk Don't Run and Perfidia with this just by reading the tablature but its good to have the music too for the timing even though am a very slow reader. Its very accurate and true to the originals and the CD quality is first class with a real band playing not midi. The Ventures were America's answer to the Shadows a great band and their best songs are here.
