I originally purchased this for a late spring backpacking trip in Prince Albert National Park, where temperatures fell to low single digits Celsius overnight. The bag is of a reasonable size and weight (in line with the published specs) and isn't an undue burden - not comparable to a down bag, of course, but entirely manageable and quite good for a synthetic bag, never mind one of this price. The inside material is also nice - it's soft and brushed, a much nicer feel than the slick unbrushed nylon of some sleeping bags. At 5'10" and ~165lb (178cm/78kg), I found the size pretty appropriate - plenty of room for my feet and enough room to toss and turn a little, though the hood seemed a touch fiddly to get arrange right. I imagine I could easily be a couple inches taller and a dozen or two pounds heavier without major issues. Zippers, drawstrings, etc all seem to work well and feel robust and reliable, though perhaps not luxuriously smooth in their operation.Performance wise, I was wearing long johns, a light fleece top, wool socks, and a fleece toque on top of an R3.4 pad and was comfortable but not excessively warm down to about 3-4C (as a guy who is a pretty average sleeper, temperature wise). I think going below freezing would require either a warmer base layer to sleep in or a sleeping bag liner, which is on par for a -7C survival rating. Another alternative would be the LEEF 20F - there's no clear spec sheet difference, but per Teton's customer support the LEEF has both more and higher quality insulation (and a thinner fabric, so a larger portion of the mass is insulation), and would be more comfortable in slightly colder temperatures.Ultimately, this bag is the sort of product I've come to expect from Teton Sports - solid (but not cutting edge) performance at an extremely competitive price, adding up to exceptional value without any bargain basement compromises.

This is a very nice sleeping bag that is comfortable, lightweight, and very portable for backpacking. While it's not the thinnest or lightest, it is a great value and a very high quality product. I bought two of these - one for me, one for my wife - and we have used them in both car camping with my child and also back country backpacking. This bag works great and I am very happy with this purchase. Here are my thoughts:1. The 20 degree rating is a survival rating. For comfort, add about 20 degrees - call it a 40 degree bag. If it's going to be warmer than that, you can leave the bag partially unzipped. If it's colder, you will need a base layer to help you preserve your body heat.2. This bag works fine for me as far as size - I'm about six feet and average build. There's plenty of room for my feet (which stay good and warm by the way) as well as tucking in your head if I choose to. I normally leave my head out and just wear a cap if it gets too cold.3. The bag is very durable. We have used our bags numerous times and there have been no problems with the zippers or the construction.4. There's no need for a compression sack - this compresses pretty small as is.Again, we love these. It's not the lightest, the most insulated, or the biggest brand name, but it is very good and durable for the price. I highly recommend this to my fellow backpackers without hesitation.
