I bought a reconditioned item. It was sent back as it wouldn't charge

Difficult to review as the first one I ordered did not work and was replaced, and the replacement did not work either. Complete waste of time. Refund came a couple of weeks later.

I tried the I'm Caddy head to head with my Garmin S1 watch () with somewhat mixed results. It charged up quickly and on switching on near the 1st tee found the course very quickly (less than a couple of minutes, which I was impressed with - it seemed quicker than the Garmin). Anyway, onto the first tee and I'm Caddy seemed to recognise I was on the tee automatically and a press of the centre button gave me the distance. So far so good.Compared to the Garmin S1 the yardages given were between 1 and 9 yards different over the round - I say different because I don't know which device is the more accurate, and GPS is prone to positional errors anyway. So all I can say is that in general it reported similar yardages to the Garmin device (but that single 9 yard difference was a bit worrying).Part way through the round I started to play with the controls to switch to other holes, which was where the trouble started - I managed to put the device into "manual hole selection mode" whilst mid way down a fairway and no matter what I did couldn't reset/back out of this mode (it kept saying "no hole is detected"). This meant that it refused to report any yardages. Even switching the power on and off didn't work. It wasn't until I got to another tee (two tees on in fact) that I managed to get things working again (I'm guessing because you should only use manual tee selection mode when on a tee). But the lack of an ability to back out is worrying and this is probably my biggest niggle with the product - the voice interface is extremely limited - I'd feel much happier setting up the device with the benefit of a screen. The other major niggle I have is something mentioned in the instruction book which quite literally says:"Keep your device dry. Humidity and liquid may damage the parts or electronic circuits in the device. Water damage to your device can void you manufacturer's warranty."For me this is unforgivable for a device designed for golf and sold into Europe where the weather is often not as nice as sunny California. What's worse is that if it does start to rain the device is up on your cap, copping the worst of the weather (it needs to be there so that you can hear the audio). On the plus side it's slightly cheaper than the Garmin, battery life seems to be very good (better than the garmin) and it's simple to use provided you don't fiddle with the buttons / modes. However given the choice I'd probably pay more for something with a screen and proper waterproofing.
