Works well. 230Kbps interface, approximately 0.7 degrees between reading and small packets make this a great lidar, though visual inspection with infrared viewer shows the beam isn't well focused, but it's small and light and all the electronics are well housed, though the circuit is exposed at the bottom, so you will need to seal it when mounted. Haven't tried outside yet, but spins up quickly and is reasonably stable without externally regulating the speed. Quiet - near silent. Full docs available online - Look up LD19 development manual. Serial adapter supplied connects to Windows 10 no problem, and quickly spins up, giving a quick way to get results, and while no disks or drivers are supplied, there is a visual LIDAR display program you can download from the manufacturer.

Excellent LIDAR, very stable readings. Comes with interface board and a micro-USB to USB-A cable. No problem using it with ROS2 Jazzy on Raspberry Pi 5 (under Ubuntu 24.04 Base). For easy setup under ROS2 search GitHub for the driver - "slgrobotics ldlidar_sl_ros2".

I integrated this ldlidar unit into a robot that originally had an rplidar unit. Easy and excellent results using the vendor supplied ROS drivers on GitHub. No exposed moving/rotating parts is nice feature.Loses one star because it makes a noise like a constantly seeking hard drive. Not sure if this is normal or not. Works fine regardless.

This is a beautiful little device. Self-enclosed motor and rotor, and preferable to the much larger RP-Lidars with exposed rotating mechanics. However, the datarate of the unit is very high, so it requires a fast microcontroller to decode the data.
