Charged several batteries - both Canon and 3rd party - and it worked fine. Not notably slower than any other charger, not any faster for that matter.

Replaced a worn out Canon charger with this at about a quarter of the cost. Much faster than the Canon charger as well.

What you get in the box is a canon style charger and a nice flexible figure 8 type AC power cord. QC is good but the unit is very light, much lighter then ones built by canon, so my guess is a much smaller transformer used in its build. The unit also looks almost incidental to a genuine charger (See Pics)But with that aside, What I did like is the fact it has a separate power cord and a built in power supply as I am not a big fan of the standard charger that comes with canon cams and plugs in directly, but feel the manufacturer of this one needs to work on the charging circuit and use a better heavier internal power supply in its build.Unfortunately the unit does not work as it should. I tested several batteries both canon and aftermarket old and new in both a genuine canon charger and this one, and while the genuine charger correctly flashed a sequence to let you know at what percentage the battery was at, this charger only flashed the same constant rate throughout the entire charging cycle. It also did not work correctly with an older battery I tried causing the charger and battery to get very hot with the bottom of the charger at around 120'F and never completed charging the battery. I put this same battery in the genuine charger after it cooled down and it flashed a 75% sequence and finished charging then turned green when done shortly after, while this one never turns green it just turns completely off if the charge cycle completes without it getting to what I feel is dangerously hot so while some batteries do charge none charge with the correct flash sequence so you never know where you are at ...Thus from the experience I have had with testing this and even though I like the design with the external cord, I cant trust this charger to reliably charge batteries because it does not work correctly and has different results with different batteries over heating so because of this I cant really recommend this charger as a replacement or even a backup charger due to the problems I encountered.
